Background
The Porsche 981 is the internal designation given to the third-generation Porsche Cayman models built by Porsche, released in summer 2012. The 981 reflects the new design language from the 918 Spyder and 991 series 911, and features new and revised engine and transmission specifications. Together with a new body, the type 981 features a new chassis; 40 per cent more torsionally rigid, the front track is 40mm wider, the rear 18mm wider and the wheelbase extended by 60mm, but with a small weight reduction of 30kg. The 981 Cayman is the last to feature a boxer six-cylinder engine. The engine does away with the Intermediate Shaft, which proved to be a weak link in pre-2009 Cayman engines.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche Cayman looks stunning in its glossy coat of Pure White, an optional colour for the car. The striking 20-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum with coloured Porsche crests are the perfect contrast to the Pure White paintwork. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The Cayman has been waxed with Autoglym High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior
The full black leather seats with seat heating and rest of the interior leathers are in excellent condition and provide a perfect pairing to the Pure White bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The sleek aesthetic is topped-off with features like the PCM 3.1 touchscreen system that controls many optional features of the car (Navigation, BOSE Digital Surround System, DAB, Phone, Bluetooth, music interface).

Engine and Transmission
Our Cayman is equipped with the 2.7 litre DFI flat six engine. The Cayman engine produces 275bhp and 213ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 46:54 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

With its compact design and low weight, the 6 speed manual gearbox is a simple, direct way to tap into the power of the Cayman. The manual transmission system provides short gearshift travel and precise lever movement, giving you the highest possible level of accessibility with the minimum of fuss.

Our Cayman is equipped with the highly desired Porsche Switchable Exhaust (PSE) system, which unleashes a more sporty sound both on acceleration and lift off. With SPORT mode enabled, the sound increases further, with pops and crackles when you lift off the throttle.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our Cayman comes fitted with the 20-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum, which are unmarked, free of kerbing damage and corrosion. They have been fully refurbished, including the insides and fitted with colour coded weights. The brakes are phenomenal, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear. The front and rear brake discs and pads are in good condition without any lip or corrosion. The tyres are matching Porsche N rated Pirelli P Zero high performance tyres.

History File
Our Porsche Cayman has a full Official Porsche Centre service history with evidence of work carried out shown in the original service book and accompanying invoices. The last service was completed at 24,000 miles and it was a Major service including inspection, spark plugs, all filters and brake fluid change. The next service is due in around 13,000 miles. The 981 Cayman has had a full diagnostics and engine hours check carried out by Porsche Specialist PorschaCare. In September 2019 the car was fitted with new aircon condensers and the air conditioning system was regassed.

The most recent brake fluid change was at 24,000 miles, the spark plugs were also replaced at 24,000 miles.
