Background
Production of the all-new generation 991-series 911 Carrera S began in 2011, it featured a revised 3.8 litre engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI with increased power/torque, revised suspension system, lighter restyled body, larger air intakes, sculpted LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM 3.1 System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation/music jukebox and Bluetooth audio streaming as well as phone connectivity (as options – fitted to this car). Despite a 100mm longer wheelbase, overall length is only increased by around 40mm and weight is actually reduced by 45kg due to intelligent use of composite alloys that not only add up to 25% rigidity, but reduce weight too. The roofline is actually lower than the previous 997 generation 2, however cabin space has also significantly increased in all dimensions, making this an even more useable, yet stylish, updated 911 with clear classic Porsche lineage.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet looks stunning in its metallic coat of Basalt Black, a striking colour for the 991, especially with the optional Gloss Black Carrera S wheels with colour Porsche Crests. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera S has been professionally fitted with Paint Protection Film PPF on the whole exterior which provides the ultimate protection. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front & clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine & boot struts also operate as they should. The Black fabric hood is in excellent condition & operates perfectly, we have cleaned & retreated the hood with the Autoglym Hood Cleaner & Protector Kit so it will remain in fantastic condition for the foreseeable future.

Interior
The 911 Carrera S comes with the 4-way electric Sports Seats that have height adjustment & optional 3-stage seat heating. Just like the rest of the Special Order Black & Platinum Grey extended leather interior, they are in excellent condition & provide a perfect pairing to the Basalt Black metallic bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 & 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera S engine produces 400bhp & 325ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability & superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the highly desired PASM switchable sports suspension system, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road. PASM equipped cars also sit 10mm lower than non PASM cars.

Another addition is the exceptional Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust PSE which significantly improves the sound of the 911 on any journey, without being too loud or intrusive.

The Carrera S is also fitted with Sport Chrono Plus Package, which adds a SPORT & SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer & blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the 911. The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Plus Package, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS & LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera S to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration & the headline 0-60mph time by 0.3 seconds to just 4.0 seconds.

One other optional feature fitted to this 911 is Porsche Torque Vectoring PTV Plus, a system that actively enhances vehicle dynamics and stability. Operating in conjunction with the electronic rear locking differential, it works by braking the rear wheels as the situation demands, to improve steering response & steering precision by specific braking of the right or left rear wheel. To be more precise, this means that when the car is driven assertively into a corner, moderate brake pressure is applied to the inside rear wheel. Consequently, a greater amount of power is distributed to the outside rear wheel, inducing an additional rotational pulse (yaw movement) around the vehicle’s vertical axis. This results in a direct & sporty steering action as the car enters the corner. At high speeds & when accelerating out of corners, the rear differential lock ensures greater driving stability, outstanding traction, as well as greater agility, precise steering, & stable load transfer characteristics. In summary, the 991-series Carrera S offers unrivalled driving pleasure at every twist & turn.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera S Cabriolet comes fitted with the optional Gloss Black 20-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels with optional colour Porsche Crests, which are unmarked, free of kerbing damage and corrosion. The brakes are phenomenal, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear. The callipers are painted Guards Red from the factory with PORSCHE lettering. The tyres are matching Porsche N0-rated Pirelli P-Zeros, with lots of life left.
