One of the prettiest open top 911s of all time, this is a wide body Triple Black 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet produced in 2010, it is getting extremely hard to find these iconic sports cars with the right options and provenance. This 911 is a 997.2 series, the last generation of 911 with Hydraulic Steering, classic 993-esque styling, timeless design in Basalt Black Metallic, which has been machine polished and waxed. The 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat-six Direct Fuel Injection DFI engine that produces 385bhp and propels the all-wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in under 4.5 seconds and on to a 183mph top speed. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera 4S began in 2009, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet looks stunning in its metallic coat of Basalt Black, a striking colour for the 997.2, especially with the red strip reflector on the rear of the wider bodyshell. Just the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models came in the 4.4cm wider body shell, the Carrera 2 and 2S were only sold in the narrow 911 body. The 19-inch Sport Design lightweight alloy wheels finished in metallic BBS Silver are the perfect contrast to the paintwork. The 911 Carrera 4S has been machine polished and waxed with Autofinesse Soul Carnauba Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should. The black convertible fabric hood is fully electric and operates perfectly, stowing away in its own compartment behind the rear seats. It has been treated with the Autoglym hood cleaner and water repellent treatment so is in as new condition. The convertible hood can be operated remotely with the Porsche keys or even on the move, up to around 30mph should the weather change suddenly.

Interior
The 2-way Electric Leather Seats come with the optional 2-stage heating and Porsche Crest Embossed Headrests, and just like the rest of the leather interior, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect pairing to the Basalt Black bodywork. There are no major marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The engine produces 385bhp and 310ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road. It is also fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT and SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer and blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the C4S.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS and LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera 4S to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0.4 seconds to just 4.5 seconds.

Another addition is the exceptional Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust PSE which significantly improves the sound of the 911 on any journey, without being too loud or intrusive.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Sport Design Lightweight Alloy Wheels which are finished in metallic BBS Silver. They are in great original condition. The brakes are phenomenal, with factory Guards Red callipers and PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear with plenty of life left in them. The tyres are Pirelli P-Zero Porsche N rated high performance tyres with plenty of tread all round.
