This is one of the highest optioned generation 2 Cayman S we have come across, let alone stocked. It has over £10,000 of options from new. Our 2nd generation Porsche Cayman S is finished in striking Aqua Blue Metallic (code LM5R) which is extremely sought after as it really suits the shape of the mid engined Porsche sportscar. The Cayman S comes fitted with the mid mounted 3.4 litre DFI flat six engine that produces 320bhp. Full service history with Porsche main dealers and highly regarded Porsche specialists. The optional Porsche Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights offer exceptional brightness, even in challenging conditions. The light beam pattern actually adjusts from side to side depending on speed and steering wheel movement to light up round a corner increasing your line of sight at night.

Background

The facelift version of the Porsche Cayman was introduced in February 2009. The Cayman S gained direct injection and a 25 hp increase to 320bhp, compared to the first generation version. The new engine does away with the Intermediate Shaft, which proved to be a weak link in pre-2009 engines. The front bumper was redesigned along with new front and rear lights.

Exterior

Our hand selected Porsche Cayman S Gen 2 looks stunning in its metallic coat of Aqua Blue Metallic, an optional colour for the car. The striking 19-inch Sport Design lightweight alloy wheels finished with coloured Porsche crests are the perfect contrast to the red brake callipers. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The Cayman S has been waxed with Autoglym High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior

The optional black leather hardback sports seats, optional extended leather centre console and rest of the interior leathers are in excellent condition and provide a perfect pairing to the Aqua Blue metallic bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The sleek aesthetic is topped-off with features like the Sport Chrono Package Plus Silver Stopwatch on the dashboard and PCM 3.0 touchscreen system that controls many optional features of the car (Navigation, BOSE Digital Surround System, phone, Bluetooth, music interface).

Engine and Transmission

Our Cayman S is equipped with the 3.4 litre DFI flat six engine. The Cayman S engine produces 320bhp and 273ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 45:55 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

With its compact design and low weight, the 6 speed manual gearbox is a simple, direct way to tap into the power of the Cayman S. The manual transmission system provides short gearshift travel and precise lever movement, giving you the highest possible level of accessibility with the minimum of fuss. The gear knob and handbrake are the optional aluminium items which feel great in the hand.

Our Cayman S is equipped with the highly desired Porsche Sport Chrono Package Plus system, which includes the dashboard mounted silver stopwatch and lap timer. It also adds a SPORT button to the dash which tautens the throttle  response.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

Our Cayman S comes fitted with the 19-inch Sport Design lightweight alloy wheels, which are unmarked, free of kerbing damage and corrosion. The brakes are phenomenal, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear. The front and rear brake discs and pads are in good condition without any lip or corrosion. The tyres are matching Porsche N rated Continental ContiSport high performance tyres with a good amount of tread all round.

History File

Our Porsche Cayman S has a full Official Porsche Centre and Porsche Specialist Dealer service history with evidence of work carried out shown in the original service book and invoices. The last service was completed at 48,000 miles and it was a 20,000 miles Major service including inspection, so their are no worn or corroded parts that require replacement for several years – this work was completed by the highly regarded PorschaCare, Hertfordshire. The next service is due in around 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes sooner.

The most recent brake fluid change was in December 2018 at 48,000 miles, the spark plugs were replaced in September 2015 at 30k. The clutch was changed at 48k miles in March 2019.

The car comes complete with invoices of work carried out, original owners manual pack and two keys. 6 month nationwide warranty and MOT until July 2019.
