The Boxster S comes fitted with the mid mounted 3.4 litre DFI flat six engine that produces 315bhp. With this being a 981 Boxster S, it is cleaner and more efficient, translating in cheaper annual road tax, just £305 instead of £565, a significant saving to annual running costs.

Full comprehensive Official Porsche Centre (OPC) service history, the mileage is 73,700 miles. Full service, brake fluid change, inspection and diagnostics including Overrevs check completed by PorschaCare in July 2020, so the next service is due in July 2022 or 20,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. Both air conditioning condensers were replaced, as well as the high pressure fuel pump. The Boxster S comes with 2 original Porsche keys finished in matching Racing Yellow and has the factory Alarm and Immobiliser, as well as the factory fitted Tracker system. Background
The Porsche 981 is the internal designation given to the third-generation Porsche Boxster models built by Porsche, released in summer 2012. The 981 reflects the new design language from the 918 Spyder and 991 series 911, and features new and revised engine and transmission specifications. Together with a new body, the type 981 features a new chassis; 40 per cent more torsionally rigid, the front track is 40mm wider, the rear 18mm wider and the wheelbase extended by 60mm, but with a small weight reduction of 30kg. The 981 Boxster is the last to feature a boxer six-cylinder engine. The engine does away with the Intermediate Shaft, which proved to be a weak link in pre-2009 Boxster engines.

Exterior
Our hand selected Boxster S looks stunning in its gloss coat of Racing Yellow, a striking Porsche colour in any light. The striking 20-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels finished in factory Satin Platinum are the perfect contrast to the Racing Yellow paintwork. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and rear lights. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should. The Black fabric hood is in excellent condition and operates perfectly. The hood can also be operated remotely with the key and at speeds of up to 40mph.

Interior
The Boxster S comes with 14-way full leather sports seats with lumbar support system, easy-access function and drivers seat memory with both the keys, which also stores the mirror positions, steering wheel position (which is also electrically adjustable rather than manual) and PCM 3.1 preferences. All of the Black interior leathers are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Racing Yellow bodywork. There are no adverse marks or signs of wear to any of the trim parts, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The sleek aesthetic is topped-off with features like the PCM 3.1 touchscreen system that controls many optional features of the car (Navigation, 9-Speaker Sound System, DVD DOLBY 5.1 playback, Jukebox music storage of 10,000 tracks, Phone connectivity, Bluetooth® music streaming, music interface).

Engine and Transmission
Our Boxster S is equipped with the 3.4 litre DFI flat six engine. The Boxster S engine produces 315bhp and 273ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 45:55 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

With its compact design and low weight, the 911 derived Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox is a simple, direct way to tap into the power of the Boxster S. The combination with Sport Chrono Plus Package enables three selectable modes, Normal, SPORT, SPORT PLUS.

Our Boxster S is equipped with the highly desired Porsche Switchable Exhaust (PSE) system, which unleashes a more sporty sound both on acceleration and lift off. With SPORT or SPORT PLUS mode enabled, the sound increases further, with pops and crackles when you lift off the throttle.

Another choice option fitted to our Boxster S is PASM Porsche Active Suspension Management, which switches the suspension from Comfort to firmer Sport mode at the touch of a button. Comfort mode is actually softer than a non-PASM equipped Boxster S. The PASM damper and spring setup is also configured 10mm lower than the standard non-PASM equipped Boxster S.

This Boxster S has the PADM dynamic engine/transmission mounts, which electronically control the oscillations and vibrations of the entire drivetrain, especially the engine. By adapting stiffness and damping characteristics to changes in driving style and road surface conditions, the dynamic gearbox mounts combine the benefits that otherwise distinguish hard and soft gearbox mounting arrangements. For the driver, the results are tangible. Handling is perceptibly more stable under load-change conditions and in fast corners. Whenever a less assertive driving style is adopted, the dynamic gearbox mounts automatically soften to enhance comfort. You experience the best of the best worlds—uncompromisingly sporty performance in corners, yet with a high degree of comfort. The Sport or Sport Plus button enables you to switch the dynamic gearbox mounts from Normal to Sport or Performance mode. In conjunction with the optional PCM, the TFT screen in the right-hand circular instrument enables you to view the lateral and longitudinal forces as they act on the vehicle.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our Boxster comes fitted with the 20-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum, which are unmarked, free of kerbing damage and corrosion. The brakes are phenomenal, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear. The tyres are matching Porsche N rated Pirelli P Zero high performance tyres with lots of tread remaining.

History File
Our Porsche Boxster S has a full Official Porsche Centre (OPC) service history with evidence of work carried out with the service invoices. The last service was completed at 73,700 miles in June 2020 and it was an Interim service including inspection, oil, filters, drive belt check and brake fluid change. Both air conditioning condensers were replaced, as well as the high pressure fuel pump. The next service is due in around 20,000 miles or July 2022, whichever comes sooner. The 981 Boxster S has had a full diagnostics and engine hours check carried out by us in June 2020.

The most recent brake fluid change was at 73,700 miles, the spark plugs and drive belt were replaced at 70,300 miles in August 2018 as Official Porsche Centre OPC Sheffield. The wheels were also laser re-aligned by OPC Sheffield in August 2018.

The Boxster S comes complete with invoices of work carried out, original owners manual pack and two keys. The car is HPI clear, has MOT until 21 August 2021 and comes complete with six months warranty.
