The optional PDLS Porsche Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights offer exceptional brightness, even in challenging conditions. The light beam pattern actually adjusts from side to side depending on speed and steering wheel movement to light up round a corner increasing your line of sight at night.

Background
The Porsche 981 is the internal designation given to the third-generation Porsche Cayman models built by Porsche, released in summer 2012. The 981 reflects the new design language from the 918 Spyder and 991 series 911, and features new and revised engine and transmission specifications. Together with a new body, the type 981 features a new chassis; 40 per cent more torsionally rigid, the front track is 40mm wider, the rear 18mm wider and the wheelbase extended by 60mm, but with a small weight reduction of 30kg. The 981 Cayman is the last to feature a boxer six-cylinder engine. The engine does away with the Intermediate Shaft, which proved to be a weak link in pre-2009 Cayman engines.

Exterior
Our hand selected Cayman S looks stunning in its glossy coat of Guards Red, an iconic Porsche colour. The striking 19-inch Boxster S lightweight alloy wheels are the perfect contrast to the Guards Red paintwork. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and rear lights. The optional electric folding mirrors with entry LEDs fold on lock and unfold when you start the car. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior
The Cayman S comes with the incredible 14-way electric sports seats that have the lumbar support system, 3-stage seat heating and position memory. The optional memory system stores the drivers seat position, both mirrors position and optional steering column position in each of the two original Porsche keys, plus 2 extra profiles accessed on the drivers door panel. An optional easy access function can also be enabled which moves the seat back and steering wheel up on entry/exit, making it easy to get in and out, even when you are parked in a tight space. The seat and wheel automatically return to their stored positions when you get in and put the key in the ignition. The special factory order extended leather in dark Agate Grey is in excellent condition and provides a perfect contrast to the Guards Red bodywork. The extended leather covers the dashboard and doors as well as the seats. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim parts, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The sleek aesthetic is topped-off with features like the PCM 3.1 touchscreen system that controls many optional features of the car (Navigation, BOSE Digital Surround System, DAB, DVD DOLBY 5.1 playback, Jukebox music storage of 10,000 tracks, Phone connectivity, Bluetooth® music streaming, music interface).

Engine and Transmission
Our Cayman S is equipped with the 3.4 litre DFI flat six engine. The Cayman S engine produces 321bhp and 273ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 45:55 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

The 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. It has two selectable modes, Normal and SPORT. SPORT mode changes the shift characteristics of the gearbox, holding gears for longer and changing quicker. SPORT mode also increases the throttle sensitivity.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our Cayman comes fitted with the 19-inch Boxster S lightweight alloy wheels which are unmarked, free of kerb damage and corrosion. The coloured Porsche Crests are also as new. The brakes are phenomenal, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear with plenty of life left in them, the front pads have just been changed and the brake fluid replaced. The tyres are matching Pirelli P Zero Porsche N rated high performance tyres with lots of tread remaining.

History File
Our Porsche Cayman S has a full Porsche and Specialist service history with evidence of work carried out shown in the original service book and accompanying invoices. The last service was completed at 37,100 miles and it was a Minor service including inspection. The next service is due in around 20,000 miles or 24 months, whichever comes sooner. The 981 Cayman S has had an inspection, full diagnostics check and brake fluid change carried out by us in September 2020.

The most recent brake fluid change was at 37,400 miles, the spark plugs were replaced at the last Major Service, in October 2017 at 30,200 miles.

The Cayman S comes complete with invoices of work carried out, original owners manual pack and two keys. The car is HPI clear, has MOT until 12 August 2021 and comes complete with six months warranty.
