Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet 3.8 997 Gen 2 finished in stunning Arctic Silver metallic (code L92U) with Special Order Carrera Red extended leather and Black Fabric hood. The iconic 911 Coupe body is paired with striking metallic BBS Silver Carrera S II lightweight alloy wheels which have been freshly refurbished by us, fitted with high performance tyres. The 911 comes with the incredible 7-speed PDK double clutch automatic gearbox, which can be operated in full automatic, full manual mode or a combination of two. The 911 Carrera S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat six engine that produces 385bhp and propels the rear wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in under 4.6 seconds and on to a 186mph top speed. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection (DFI) 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

This 997.2 Carrera has a full Porsche Main Dealer (OPC) and Porsche Specialist Service History, with all invoices from new, and the fully stamped original service book. The 911 was last serviced at 42,487 miles in May 2021. The next service is due in 19,900 miles or May 2023, whichever comes sooner. We have subsequently carried out a brake fluid change in July 2021. Total mileage is 42,580 miles and there are 2 previous owners from new and it was first registered 25 March 2009. Standard items include the Hill Start Assist, retractable rear spoiler, Automatic climate control, Electric windows, Headlight washers, daylight running LEDs, silver dashboard dials, dual cup holders, Remote central locking, Trip computer, PSM Traction Control, ABS, Locking wheel bolts, Locking glovebox, Alarm and Immobiliser. All equipment fitted to our 911 Carrera S works perfectly, so the car is exactly as it left the factory in March 2009.

The optional PDLS Porsche Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights offer exceptional brightness, even in challenging conditions. The light beam pattern actually adjusts from side to side depending on speed and steering wheel movement to light up round a corner increasing your line of sight at night.

Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera S began in 2009, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet looks stunning in its metallic coat of Arctic Silver, a striking colour for the 997.2, especially with the red LED rear lights and contrasting black electric hood. The Carrera S II lightweight alloy wheels finished in BBS Silver metallic are the perfect pairing to the paintwork. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera S has been waxed with Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should. The black convertible fabric hood is fully electric and operates perfectly, stowing away in its own compartment behind the rear seats. It has been treated with the Autoglym hood cleaner and water repellent treatment so is in as new condition. The convertible hood can be operated remotely with the Porsche keys or even on the move, up to around 35mph should the weather change suddenly.

Interior
The optional Ventilated 2-way Electric Seats come with 3-stage ventilation, Porsche Crest embossed headrests and 2-stage heating. Just like the rest of the special order extended Carrera Red leather interior, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Arctic Silver metallic bodywork. The optional Multi-function Sports steering wheel also has optional steering wheel heating. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera S engine produces 385bhp and 310ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system (PASM), which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera S Convertible comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Carrera S II lightweight alloy wheels, finished in BBS Silver metallic, are original, unmarked, free of damage and corrosion, having been fully refurbished by us. The brake discs and pads are in good condition with minimal wear. The tyres are Falken Azenis FK510, which are high performance tyres, with lots of tread remaining.
