The 991-series Carrera comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.4 litre flat six naturally aspirated engine that produces 345bhp and propels the rear wheel drive supercar to 60mph in under 4.2 seconds (thanks to the PDK gearbox combined with the optional Sport Chrono Plus Package) and on to a 178mph top speed. The 991 generation 1 cars do not suffer all of the problems of later 991 gen 2 cars, such as turbo/oil supply failures, or earlier 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI naturally aspirated 911 engines.

Background
Production of the all-new generation 991-series 911 Carrera began in 2011, it featured a revised 3.4 litre engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) with increased power/torque, revised suspension system, lighter restyled body, larger air intakes, sculpted LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management (PCM 3.1) System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth audio streaming as well as phone connectivity (as options – fitted to this car). Despite a 100mm longer wheelbase, overall length is only increased by around 40mm and weight is actually reduced by 45kg due to intelligent use of composite alloys that not only add up to 25% rigidity, but reduce weight too. The roofline is actually lower than the previous 997 generation 2, however cabin space has also significantly increased in all dimensions, making this an even more useable, yet stylish, updated 911 with clear classic Porsche lineage.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera looks stunning in its metallic coat of Basalt Black, a striking colour for the 991, especially with the optional Carrera III lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum with colour Porsche Crests. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera has been waxed with Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior
The 911 Carrera comes with the incredible 14-way electric Sports Seats that have the lumbar support system, 3-stage seat heating and position memory. The optional memory system stores the drivers seat position, both mirrors position and optional steering column position in each of the two original Porsche keys, plus 2 extra profiles accessed on the drivers door panel. An optional easy access function can also be enabled which moves the seat back and steering wheel up on entry/exit, making it easy to get in and out, even when you are parked in a tight space. The seat and wheel automatically return to the stored positions when you get in and put the key in the ignition. Just like the rest of the Black extended leather interior, they are in excellent condition and provide a perfect pairing to the Basalt Black metallic bodywork. This 911 has special factory order metallic black trims on the dashboard and doors, matching the exterior paint finish. The optional Sport Design steering wheel is the only wheel with full size PDK shift paddles, allowing quick and effective manual gearshifts on demand. The black Alcantara headlining is a luxury addition to the interior. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The 911 Carrera is fitted with the optional LED Interior Light Design Package, which adds adjustable ambient night lighting in the cabin, notably the rear section, footwells, door areas and overhead console.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the 3.4 litre flat six DFI naturally aspirated engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera engine produces 345bhp and 288ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the optional and highly desired PASM switchable sports suspension system, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road. PASM equipped cars also sit 10mm lower than non PASM cars.

The Carrera is also fitted with Sport Chrono Plus Package, which adds a SPORT and SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer and blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the 911.

Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the highly desired Porsche Switchable Exhaust PSE system, which unleashes a more sporty sound both on acceleration and lift off. With SPORT or SPORT PLUS mode enabled, the sound increases further, with pops and crackles when you lift off the throttle.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Plus Package, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS and LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0.2 seconds to just 4.2 seconds.

This Carrera has the PADM dynamic engine/transmission mounts, which electronically control the oscillations and vibrations of the entire drivetrain, especially the engine. By adapting stiffness and damping characteristics to changes in driving style and road surface conditions, the dynamic gearbox mounts combine the benefits that otherwise distinguish hard and soft gearbox mounting arrangements. For the driver, the results are tangible. Handling is perceptibly more stable under load-change conditions and in fast corners. Whenever a less assertive driving style is adopted, the dynamic gearbox mounts automatically soften to enhance comfort. You experience the best of the best worlds—uncompromisingly sporty performance in corners, yet with a high degree of comfort. The Sport or Sport Plus button enables you to switch the dynamic gearbox mounts from Normal to Sport or Performance mode. In conjunction with the optional PCM, the TFT screen in the right-hand circular instrument enables you to view the lateral and longitudinal G-forces as they act on the vehicle.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera comes fitted with the optional 20-inch Carrera III lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum, which are original, unmarked, free of damage and corrosion. The brake callipers are painted Guards Red, just like the Carrera S models. The brake discs and pads are in good condition with minimal wear. The tyres are Porsche N0 rated Pirelli P-Zero high performance tyres, with lots of tread left all round as they were recently replaced.
