Full Hartech Rebuilt Engine Porsche 911 Carrera 4S 3.8 litre Tiptronic S Coupe finished in stunning Basalt Black Metallic (code LC9W) and Stone Grey extended leather with full Porsche Main Dealer (OPC) and Specialist Service History, last major service at 75,000 miles in January 2021. The next service is due in 20,000 miles or by January 2023, whichever comes sooner. Total mileage is 75,000 miles and there are four previous owners from new. This car was subject to a comprehensive Hartech Engine Rebuild at 69,851 miles in August 2017 which included 6 new Hartech Aluminium Alloy Nikasil Cylinder liners, Hartech Recoated Pistons with Piston Rings plus numerous other parts and engine refurbishment/cleaning work. The oil cooler was also replaced, as well as the timing chain with tensioner, spark plugs and exhaust bolts/gaskets. The IMS bearing was upgraded to the larger unsealed variant and a Low Temperature Thermostat was also fitted.
The turbo widebody is paired with striking Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels which are as new, with Porsche N-rated Bridgestone Potenza tyres supplied and fitted by RPM. The car has also had its wheel alignment checked and adjusted in April 2020. The specification of this 997 Carrera 4S is good, with factory options including Hardback Sports Seats with 2-Stage Heating, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Bi-Xenon headlights, PCM 2.1 with satnav and telephone module, Sound Package Plus 9-speaker sound system, rear wiper, rear parking sensors and Becker 6-CD changer.
The 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat six engine that produces 350bhp with the incredible 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox, and propels the 4 wheel drive supercar to 60mph in 4.8 seconds and on to a 174mph top speed. With this being a pre March-2006 911 Carrera 4S it qualifies for the much cheaper annual road tax, just £330 instead of £565, a significant saving to annual running costs. This car is also ULEZ compliant, so does not attract the daily emission charge in London.
The 911 Carrera 4S is HPI clear, has MOT until January 2022 and comes complete with our 6 month warranty. We are a Hertfordshire based Porsche Specialist.

Background
Production of the 911 Carrera 4S began in 2005, it was an all-wheel drive version of the S that was released in late 2004 and uses the same 350bhp 3.8 litre flat-six engine. The Carrera 4S has a 44mm wider rear end body shell and black plastic sill covers, just like the 911 Turbo.
“All-wheel drive isn’t necessary for immense grip on a Porsche 997. Nor traction. But when the going gets extreme–rocketing out of hairpins or encountering damp or dusty pavement–the new version gets on with the job, where its two-wheel-drive brother scrabbles, or activates its stability system, or even gets some tail-slide action. What it does, like every 911, is alter its attitude. Turn-in under throtte, and the light nose will understeer. Add power and things event out. This is of course what makes a 911 a delight. Among sports cars, Porsche’s safety, reliability, and build quality are incomparable. A 911 has such a superbly developed driveline, it’s unbelievably cooperative to drive in traffic. It’s easy to see out of, quiet when the engine isn’t howling its merry way toward 7,000, and blessed with top-notch aircon, navigation, and hi-fi – all of which means that a 911 is a superb companion on every journey, epic or trivial. And, in this generation, none of the gorgeous steering sensitivity or feedback is lost in return for the extra security.” Motortrend 2006
Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera 4S looks stunning in its metallic coat of Basalt Black, a striking colour for the 997.1, especially with the red lights on the rear of the wider bodyshell. Just the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models came in the 4.4cm wider body shell, the Carrera 2 and 2S were only sold in the narrow 911 body. The 19-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels are the perfect contrast to the paintwork. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera 4S has been waxed with Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.
Interior
The optional Hardback Sports Seats are finished in Stone Grey leather seats with 2-way electric adjustment, height adjustment and 2-stage heating. The seats, and the rest of the optional extended Stone Grey leather interior, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Basalt Black bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.
Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six engine. The Carrera S engine produces 350bhp and 295ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot (it has the recommended starter cable upgrade), there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.
The optional Tiptronic S automatic gearbox effectively applies the power of the 911 Carrera 4S engine, with shift buttons on the steering wheel, manual gearshifts are simple. The gearbox has a full manual mode for more spirited driving on demand. The gearbox also adjusts how fast it shifts gears and when it changes to match the drivers mood, automatically.
Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system (PASM), which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road.
Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Carrera S lightweight alloy wheels, which are original, unmarked, free of damage and corrosion. The brake discs and pads are in good condition with minimal wear. The tyres are N rated Bridgestone Potenza high performance tyres, they were replaced by RPM Porsche Specialist. The wheel alignment was checked and adjusted recently in April 2020.
