The 911 Carrera comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.6 litre flat six engine that produces 345bhp and propels the rear wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in around 4.5 seconds. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera began in mid 2008, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera looks stunning in its metallic coat of Aqua Blue, a striking colour for the 997.2, especially with the red LED rear lights. The metallic silver 19-inch Carrera Classic lightweight alloy wheels are the perfect compliment to the paintwork. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera has been waxed with Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should. The rare optional Electric Tilt and Slide Sunroof works perfectly as well.

Interior
The 12-way Electric leather seats come with optional 2-stage heating and drivers seat/mirror memory, and just like the rest of the extended Black interior leather, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Aqua Blue bodywork. The optional 12-way electric seats offer high comfort with excellent sports performance, with their adjustable lumbar support system increase comfort on long journeys. The memory function supports both exterior mirrors and all seat positions on the driver’s side. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the 3.6 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera engine produces 340bhp and 288ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road.

The Carrera is also fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT and SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer and blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch in black to add to the sporting image of the 3.6 Carrera.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS and LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0.2 seconds to just under 4.5 seconds.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera 3.6 comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Carrera Classic lightweight alloy wheels finished in metallic silver, which are original, unmarked, free of damage and corrosion. The brake callipers are finished in Speed Yellow, which look great in combination with the Aqua Blue paintwork. The brake discs and pads are in excellent condition. The tyres are Bridgestone high performance tyres, with plenty of tread left on them.
