Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera began in mid 2008, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear & front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM 3.0 System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation for UK & Europe. The generation 2 cars also do not suffer all of the potential problems of early 997 gen 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks & Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera looks stunning in its gloss coat of Guards Red, a timeless colour for the 997.2, especially with the red LED rear lights. The metallic silver 19-inch Sport Design wheels are the perfect contrast to the paintwork & are optioned with the 5mm wheel spacers front & rear. This 911 Carrera is particularly special because it was specified with the lightweight Aluminium Doors, rather than Steel Doors that most Carrera models came with, these Aluminium doors are standard on 911 models such as the flagship Turbo, GT3 and GT2. The paintwork condition is excellent. The 911 Carrera has been machine polished & waxed by us, which will help protect the paintwork & repel surface contaminants. Prior to this the whole car was treated to Gtechniq by a Porsche main dealer. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front & clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine & boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior
The 911 Comes with full leather comfort seats that have the 2-stage seat heating & electric backs. All of the Black interior leathers are in excellent condition & provide a perfect contrast to the Guards Red bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim parts, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. This car was fitted with a number of Factory X code parts, including Guards Red Seatbelts, Centre Console, Instrument Dials & Sport Chrono Stopwatch. The steering wheel is also the ultimate Sport Design item with a thicker leather rim, full size metal PDK shift levers & Drive Mode display.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the 3.6 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera engine produces 340bhp & 288ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

The Carrera is fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT & SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer & blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the 911.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS & LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera to respond & accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration & the headline 0-60mph time by 0.3 seconds to just 4.7 seconds.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Sport Design lightweight alloy wheels finished in metallic silver, which are as new, having just been fully refurbished. The brakes are phenomenal, with Black callipers & PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled & vented discs front & rear with plenty of life left in them. The tyres are Pirelli P-Zero Porsche N-rated high performance tyres, with plenty of tread left on them, the rears have just been replaced.
