The 911 Carrera S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat six engine that produces 385bhp and propels the rear wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in under 4.2 seconds and on to a 188mph top speed. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera S began in 2009, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera S has the very rare and desirable Factory Aerokit Cup Package, which consists of the GTS Front Bumper, Lower Lip Spoiler, Double Pane Fixed Rear Spoiler. It looks stunning in its metallic coat of Basalt Black, a striking colour for the 997.2, especially with the Guards Red Wing Mirrors, GT3 RS Vinyl Stickers, GTS Centre Vent and Red LED rear lights. The exclusive factory order 19-inch Carrera Sport alloy wheels painted in optional Guards Red are the perfect match to the colour scheme. The paintwork condition is excellent, with no blemishes on any panel. The 911 Carrera S has been professionally ceramic coated with GTechniq which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior
The optional Hardback Sports Seats with 2-way electric adjustment and the rest of the extended black leather interior with contrast silver stitching, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect pairing to the Basalt Black bodywork. This Porsche is fitted with a number of optional interior features, including Guards Red Seatbelts and the Carbon Fibre Interior Package, with Carbon Fibre PDK Selector, Carbon Fibre Handbrake and Carbon Fibre Dashboard Trim. The centre console is also finished in Basalt Black Metallic, usually they are finished in black matt plastic, so this elevates the interior look and feel. The Hardback Sports Seats and centre armrest have the optional embossed Porsche Crest. The Alcantara Sport Design Steering Wheel finishes off the focussed fast road feel of the interior. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather and Alcantara retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera S engine produces 385bhp and 310ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera S is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system PASM, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road. The Carrera S is also fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT and SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer and blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the C2S.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS and LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera S to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0.4 seconds to just 4.2 seconds.

Another addition is the exceptional Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust PSE which significantly improves the sound of the 911 on any journey, without being too loud or intrusive.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Carrera S comes fitted with the factory exclusive option 19-inch Carrera Sport lightweight alloy wheels finished in optional Guards Red with Diamond Cut Edge, they are original, free of damage and corrosion. The Classic 10-spoke alloy design is the only optional wheel with the 0.5 inch wider dimensions at front and rear, 8.5 and 11.5 inches, respectively. They create a larger contact patch, as well as enhancing the car’s presence on the road, this provides better traction, grip and driving dynamics. The brakes are phenomenal, with factory Guards Red callipers and PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear with plenty of life left in them. The tyres are matching Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Porsche N0 rated high performance tyres, with plenty of tread left on them.
